Ignite College and Career Academy's curriculum plan includes secondary CTAE pathways with aligned dual enrollment offerings.
Ignite is creating a new pathway in Entrepreneurship that will build on curriculum developed by the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, inspirational content from the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE), financial literacy programs from our business partners, and college programs from SGTC and GSW. In a generation, we want Sumter County to have the greatest concentration of self-made millionaires in the nation!
There are no better ways to simulate the real world than to bring the real world to the students. With Work-Based Learning, students learn by doing. 63 business partners have volunteers who share their work experiences and inspire students with classroom presentations, volunteer as mentors, and open their businesses to teachers for summer externships.
Still other businesses have volunteered to serve as Work-Based Learning (WBL) partners by hosting field trips of their worksites and/or offering job shadowing, internships, and/or apprenticeships.
In addition, Ignite is committed to tracking the placement of Ignite’s Work-Based Learning students after high school graduation.
